The results from this in vitro study are presented in a newly published article “Trabecular Titanium Architecture Drives Human Mesenchymal Stem Cell Proliferation and Bone Differentiation”.

Key findings from the study confirm that Trabecular Titanium 3D scaffold supports human adipose-derived mesenchymal stem cell colonization and induces their differentiation into bone forming cells (osteoblasts) with the deposition of the abundant mineralized extracellular matrix.

The osteoinductive behavior was observed regardless of the additive manufacturing process technology used, demonstrating that the preservation of TT specific micro- and macro-design features is the key factor driving the enhanced biological response.

This further underscores the importance of architectural characteristics that can only be achieved through carefully tailored 3D printing process parameters

This in vitro study was conducted by a team of researchers and surgeons at the University of Pavia (Italy), in collaboration with Enovis’ colleagues Elisa Salatin, Silvia Burelli, Riccardo Toninato and Michele Pressacco and adds to the growing body of evidence supporting Trabecular Titanium.
